My name is Mayra Carrera (she/her). I am a UX/UI designer, graphic designer, and illustrator. I love programming (coding) and doodling. I am passionate about education, technology, and design.Â
I feel like I’m at my best when I'm able to use design to help underserved communities, and I especially love to work with and for children.Â
As an undergrad, I am was part of the Seo UX Research Lab at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. We researched campus safety and campus safety apps. Our findings were presented and published at the HCII (Human-Computer Interaction International) 2022 conference.
Currently, I work for ed.X powered by Teach for America. There I help guide the new generations of design thinkers and problem-solversÂ
